Hi there, I’m Suhruth Simha.

A design lead who draws,
rides and plays the guitar.

I care about the boring parts of design: the ones that make a product feel obvious the second time someone uses it.

ಸುಹೃತ್ ಸಿಂಹ

Product designer with a background in visual design, illustration and branding. At GeoIQ I was the first in-house designer. I pitched the founders for a design team, hired four designers and mentored them, and set up how design worked with engineering and the founders. I also designed RetailIQ, a location-data product customers adopted without a sales demo. One of my hires took over as design lead after I left.

At Capitalmind I managed the branding for Capitalmind Mutual Fund and led its launch identity through an external agency. It was also where I started building with AI: I designed the fund’s landing pages and built them myself with Claude Code, with no engineering hand-off.

I started as an illustrator, then became a visual designer, with branding as part of that work. I moved to HumanX because I wanted to work on users’ problems more than creative ones: to use metrics, and what we know about how people behave, to frame a problem and solve it. Agency work taught me that across a lot of products, but I never got to stay with one and grow it. GeoIQ gave me that: a product company where I could take something that already existed and scale it. Capitalmind was a different pull. They needed someone to own the branding for a new mutual fund, and I wanted to sit between the company and its agency and keep the work true to the business.

What I’m best at is looking at a problem from the user’s side. I’m flexible about how a business wants to get there and in what order, because every business has its own priorities and I need to respect them. The one thing I won’t give up is evidence. I want heatmaps on the product, so my calls about users come from what they actually do. When the experience is built around users, with the business in mind, more people use the product, and that’s good for both.

When I disagree with someone, I talk to them, usually one-on-one. I try to understand where they’re coming from, explain my reasoning, and we debate it. Sometimes they come round, sometimes I do. And sometimes we agree to disagree: if the business side has strong reasons for how they want the product to grow, I align with them.

In product design, I enjoy framing the problem from both the business’s side and the user’s, then staying with the product to find the gaps and make the experience better. In branding, I love the storytelling: working out how a brand should come across to its audience, and building the identity and system around it.

I work by finding the constraint that matters, shipping the smallest thing that moves it, and putting it in front of real users. I’m dyslexic, so I design for the reader who’s skimming. I’m looking for Head of Design or senior product design roles, in Bengaluru or remote.
